These cheap healthy energy balls are my go to recipe as we near the end of any month! They are really yummy, super easy to make and a very cheap on the go snack. I’m all about economy when it comes to healthy eating, it’s so easy to get whipped up into a spending frenzy, when in reality the food that keeps us at our optimum health levels, are usually the cheapest. Think in season fruit and veg, plain wholegrain rice, water (!!!). Yes, we can spend fortunes on the must have ingredients but we’re usually just overcomplicating life. It’s good to keep things simple, and easy on the purse strings.
I use a food processor to make these however you could always just pop the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. They’d be a little rougher around the edges but still very tasty i’m sure!
Cheap Healthy Energy Ball Ingredients:
- 2 cups of rolled oats
- 1/2 cup of mixed seeds (mine is chia seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and flax seeds)
- 3 tbsp of oil (I use olive oil)
- 2 tbsp of honey (you could always use agave syrup if you don’t eat honey)
Mix and roll into balls! Keep in the fridge for up to 7 days. YUM!
