Home made granola is my go to breakfast choice as the weather gets warmer and I no longer crave a steaming bowl of porridge in the mornings. This home made granola recipe is super simple and really sets you up for the day. I like eating my granola with rice milk and topped with fresh berries. Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day, and I take it very seriously. You won’t ever find me skipping this meal (or any for that matter!) This takes about thirty minutes to make and I usually make a huge batch on a Sunday afternoon for the week.
Home Made Granola Ingredients: (makes around 6-7 bowls)
- 1 Packet of oats (400g)
- 1 Cup of mixed seeds – pumpkin, chia, sunflower, flax, etc.
- 1/2 Cup of raw almonds
- 1 Cup of sultanas
- 8 Tbsp of honey or plant syrup
- 1/2 Cup of plant based milk
Pre-heat oven to 180’c. Place all of the ingredients apart from the sultanas into a mixing bowl, mix thoroughly together. Now transfer the mixtures onto greaseproof paper on a baking tray, don’t over pile the tray. Make sure it’s evenly spread out and that all of the mixture will bake. (I usually make this in two batches) Pop in the oven for 30 mins or until golden brown, leave on the side to cool then add the sultanas and store in an airtight container or jar.
