Happy Friday my loves, it feels like it’s taken ages to get here even though it’s only been a 4 day work week! As a Friday celebration and a well done for making it, I thought I’d whip up a little refined sugar free hot chocolate. I opened the cupboard doors with a grand woooosh only to discover that I’m out of honey. A quick check of the other cupboards revealed that there’s no coconut sugar either or any plant based syrup. I’d been thinking about this hot chocolate the whole way home so I thought I’d try and come up with a new recipe and oh my goodness did I come up with a good one.
It’s rich and chocolatey, sweet and smooth and just the perfect thickness. The best part is, it only uses four ingredients. I’m currently sipping my new mug of healthy goodness as I write this, my memory is terrible so I always need to get my recipes up ASAP before I forget them!
Refined Sugar Free Hot Chocolate Ingredients:
- 2 Small handfuls of sultanas
- 2 Tbsp of pure cacao
- 1 Tbsp of vanilla essence
- 1 Cup of plant based milk – I used rice milk.
Pop the ingredients into a blender, blitz until completely smooth. This took a good few minutes for mine as the sultanas were tough! Pour the chocolatey deliciousness into a saucepan and heat. Serve in your favouite mug and settle down with a good old book or your favourite TV show.
