Wonderful Wednesday 30 | 2017

Hello hello and Happy Wonderful Wednesday my loves! This is my 30th Wonderful Wednesday post of 2017… that’s rather a fun fact! Talking of facts, I had a little look last night and discovered I have published over 400 posts on this blog in the past 18 months and 80 videos on my Youtube Channel. How crazy is that?!

Let’s get on with the wonderful this week!

.: Acupuncture. I’ve had a lot of joint pain over the past few weeks. I’ve kind of kept going and tried to ignore it until the weekend where I just couldn’t take anymore. I messaged my friend who’s an acupuncturist and asked if she could fit me in. I went yesterday afternoon and it was such a positive experience. It has really really relieved some of the pain in my joints, and I’m going back for more on Saturday. I’ve chatted a bit more about it in today’s video which you can find below.

.: Popcorn & Chocolate. I used to have it as a child and relived those childhood memories on Monday night. I made salted popcorn in the microwave and drizzled a mixture of honey, pure cacao powder and hot water over the piping hot popcorn. It’s every kind of wonderful if you haven’t tried it before.

.: Fig Jam. I tried my hand at refined sugar free jam making this weekend and created this scumptious spread. It only has three ingredients: figs, water and lemon and keeps in the fridge for up to 3 weeks – YAY! I’ve been enjoying it on everything.

.: Fig & Apple Flap Jacks. I may have been a little guilty of spreading the previously mentioned jam all over these fig and apple flap jacks with a drizzle of honey on top. It is heaven in a slice.

.: Boris. Ladies and Gentleman of Wonderful Wednesday I’d like to introduce you to Boris, my little succulent plant friend. He was ever so expensive at a whopping €0.49. I love Boris. Boris sits next to the kitchen sink.

.: Pretty Petunias. Sunday marked the year anniversary of my lovely Nan leaving this earth. I had been thinking about her all weekend and whilst driving to the supermarket I spotted a sign at the garden centre which read “Petunias €0.59”. It made me chuckle because my Nan tried to rename me Petunia when I was little, so I pulled over and purchased two little flowers – a pink and a purple. My Nan’s favourite colours. It really popped a smile on my face as it made me remember how hard headed and stubborn she could be.

.: A Kitty Care Package. Fraser sent a box full of Lily’s Kitchen cat food and treats for the babies last Friday. It’s made both me and them very happy as Arthur can only eat certain foods now due to his illness. Luckily Lily’s Kitchen is on the list of foods he can eat, and he’s really enjoying their treats. I feel ever so lucky to have such a kind and generous soul as my partner in crime in this crazy thing we call life.

.: Spanglish Vlog. My Spanglish Vlog “Nothing Lasts Forever” is by far one of my most favourite things I’ve created I’ll pop it here in case you fancy a watch, it’s only short but I hope it gives you tingles.

.: Twitter Favourites. In this week’s Wonderful Wednesday video I’m also chatting about some of my favourite people on twitter at the moment. I mention the gorgeous Sam from @PaperandLilacs The fabulous Queen of Wonderful Wednesday herself @SallyTangle. The incredible world travellers @HLOBlog And the ever so happy and lovely @SuzyFringe.
.: GBBO.  The bake off is back, I was dubious at first, I won’t lie to you – I felt like I was cheating on Mary Berry but oh my goodness, I loved it just as much. Is that allowed?!
That’s all the wonderful I have for you today friends. I hope you have the loveliest of weeks and a great weekend. I’ll be back to working in the classroom as of Friday, so wish me luck!! Please do pop over and read the other Wonderful Wednesday Tribe’s posts, you really won’t be disappointed! Sally TangleJoMichelleKateLynseySamEl Cat  and Emma.

Such a lovely story about your nan. A beautiful way to be reminded of her memory.

GBBO was a lot better than I was expecting. I think it took everyone by surprise! Plus they had some super talented bakers. Speaking of which, I’ll be saving your flapjack recipe to try! xx

Oh Peta, your food always looks so delicious! Really love the story about your nan and what a lovely way to mark the anniversary too.

Thank you for the GBBO reminder – I didn’t watch it when it aired and have been meaning to catch up on it so shall do so now. I’m quietly hopeful after hearing a few people say that it’s a lot better than they were expecting. Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

All those posts and videos, that’s quite the achievement, you should be very proud of yourself!

I’m glad the acupuncture helped out, it’s always nice to get some relief from whatever is causing us pain and discomfort. Do you find that the weather makes you EDS worse? What with it being all over the place at the moment. I can’t imagine how uncomfortable and painful it must be to have EDS.

We still haven’t dabbled in GBBO yet, but we’ll eventually get around to giving it a watch. I’m dubious but I also want to watch a bunch of people cook stuff, so I’ll still take a look.

Say Hi to Boris for me!

Thank you for your lovely comment Kerri!! I do find that the weather makes my EDS worse, both damp and hummid weather affect it. Oooh let me know when you watch GBBO, I hope you enjoy it! Boris says hi back 🙂 xx
